are the real deal, then. An August Neu Bulletin hailed an EP that ‘reaches bounds previous acts haven’t come close to’. Since then, The Acid and all their symbolic mysteries have collectively stayed in the shadows.

‘Animal”s video - the band’s first - isn’t going to shed any clues, but its murky, ink-jet stream of cool gives further backing to their odd intentions. The Acid fuse ice-cold vocals with head-spinning womps and the odd drum part that sounds like it’s come straight out the Eastenders theme tune. Together, it makes them one mighty exciting new prospect.
