Broad Cities To Love
Watch the cast of Broad City in conversation with Sleater-Kinney
Lengthy conversation discusses rocking out, feminism and groupies.
In a new NPR conversation, footage has emerged of the Broad City creators (Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer) talking big topics with Sleater-Kinney, on the week of release for new album ‘No Cities to Love’.
Taking place at the Ace Hotel, the interview spans ninety minutes, with topics ranging from feminism, rocking out, groupies and “the tribe of Sleater-Kinney”, plus how change has affected the band as their approach their new LP.
Sleater-Kinney are on the cover of this month’s DIY, out 23rd January for free online and via our usual stockists. The February 2015 cover feature checks in with a band on a mission, not just to return but to reinvent. After years out the game, we discover a group re-arriving at exactly the right time, kicking up a fuss with perfect execution. “This is one of our best records,” says Carrie Brownstein, slightly understating the brilliance of ‘No Cities to Love’.
