Waxahatchee signs with Merge in North America
Katie Crutchfield is “excited” to work with the label.
Waxahatchee has signed with Merge Records in North America.
The singer-songwriter, who remains with UK home Wichita Recordings for the rest of the world, says she’s “so excited” about her new home.
Katie Crutchfield announced a London date back in November - she’s playing a long sold-out St. Pancras Old Church on 26th January - and is expected to follow breakthrough success ‘Cerulean Salt’ in the first part of next year.
“I’m so happy to announce that Waxahatchee will be working with Merge,” she said in a statement posted on the label’s website. “They’ve been one of my favorite labels for a very long time. They’re wonderful people, and I’m so excited about making records with them in the future!”
Catch up on the many lives of Katie Crutchfield via this feature from 2013, and an interview with Katie featured alongside twin sister Allison’s band, Swearin’, as featured in the November 2013 issue of DIY.
