We Are Scientists Announce New Standalone Single

Written and recorded in New York earlier this year, the track will be available on vinyl and download on Tuesday 16th July.

On the cusp of beginning their UK touring plans, We Are Scientists have announced plans for a brand new single.

Fresh from signing a brand new UK record deal with 100% Records, the band will be releasing ‘Something About You’, a new standalone 7’.

Written and recorded in New York earlier this year, the track will be available on vinyl and download on Tuesday 16th July, but in the meantime, you can have a listen to their newest offering below.

Speaking of their forthcoming release, frontman Keith Murray has called it a ‘charity single’: “I guess ‘charity single’ is the wrong word for this, since none of the money generated will go to a good cause. But in the sense that we did this because we knew some of the fans desperately, desperately needed it — in that sense, yeah, it’s a charity single.”

The band will be heading out on a tour of the UK very shortly, as follows.

JULY
22 Thekla, Bristol
23 Wedgewood Rooms, Portsmouth
25 XOYO, London
26 Club NME, London
27 Kasbah, Coventry
29 Oran Mor, Glasgow
30 Gorilla, Manchester
31 53 Degrees, Preston

More news on their brand new album - the follow-up to 2010’s ‘Barbara’ - will arrive shortly.
