The London quartet’s latest is pleasingly, purposefully out-of-step with 2017

2017, then: Grime. Fidget Spinners. May v Corbyn.

It’s a mixed up old world and, though not without its excitement, you wouldn’t be blamed for occasionally wanting to retreat into a simpler time - even if just for a few minutes.

Cue London quartet Weird Milk: dressed like Cavern Club-era Beatles and touting the kind of harmonies last heard in the Beach Boys’ heyday, they’re a blast from the past in the most welcome of ways.

‘All Night’, the band’s latest offering, takes these elements and laces them over a lilting, tropical bassline - melding the most innocent of influences and adding a cheeky little holiday groove to spice them up.

In this scary old world, Weird Milk’s doe-eyed innocence is a welcome, nostalgic relief.
