YAK get cooking in new video for ‘Fried’
The band’s new album ‘The Pursuit Of Momentary Happiness’ is out this week.
YAK have shared a new video for ‘Fried’, in which we see frontman Oli Burslem try his hand at being a TV chef demonstrating how to use a deep fat fryer.
In Oli’s own words, he explains: “‘Fried’ is all about our unsatisfiable desire to indulge in things that aren’t good for us. However, once you get a taste for it, it’s hard to stop and it’s better to fully give way to the temptation. Set inside a throwback cooking show we follow Olivia Burslem, a charismatic TV chef and talk show presenter Oli as they test the new Deepfryer 2000 and all the amazing meals it can prepare.”
The track is taken from the band’s upcoming second album ‘Pursuit Of Momentary Happiness’, which is due out tomorrow (8th February). We’ve already heard album tracks ‘This House Has No Living Room’, ‘Belly Ache’ and ‘White Male ‘Carnivore’.
Speaking about the album, during the making of which he pushed himself to the brink of financial ruin and ended up living in his car, Oli explained: “I don’t want it to be a boo-hoo story. It was fun doing it. It’s nice to push yourself to the limit, and I can say now that I don’t give a shit what anyone thinks, because it’s a document of that time, and it’s honest and open, and I couldn’t have done or given much more.”
