Yasiin Bey (FKA Mos Def) announces new album ‘December 99th’

Yasiin Bey – formerly known as Mos Def – has announced that his new album ‘December 99th’ will be out on 9th December, exclusively on Tidal.

If that’s not enough, it’s also set to be a nine track LP. He’s really gone the whole nine yards with that concept (sorry).

The record is a collaboration with producer Ferrari Sheppard, coming after they “spent the last year recording in South Africa.” Featuring the already released tracks ‘N.A.W.’ ‘Local Time’ and ‘Seaside Panic Room,’ the release of the LP will coincide with what Yasiin is claiming will be his final shows in the U.S. at New York’s Apollo Theatre and Washington DC’s Kennedy Centre. He was recently granted permission to leave South Africa after violating the country’s immigration laws.
