Reading & Leeds 2014
You Me At Six call on All Time Low’s Alex Gaskarth for Reading 2014 Main Stage set
If this set’s anything to go by, enormodomes aren’t the only place they’ll be headlining soon.

It’s no secret that You Me At Six are now a big deal. With a Number 1 album firmly in their back pocket, the Surrey five-piece are no longer the band who spent years plugging away on the road, playing to fifty people. They’re something more huge: fully-fledged contenders for becoming the biggest group in UK rock music. Their third Main Stage set at Reading 2014 only works to confirm that.
Bursting on stage with ‘Cavalier Youth’ cut ‘Too Young To Feel This Old’, the five piece are the epitome of slick. Their performance feels effortless; it’s as though they’ve never been away. Gone are the jangling nerves that occasionally haunted their previous performances at the weekender, replaced with a confidence that oozes from their every move.
Classic set closer ‘Underdog’ appears earlier than anticipated, but it elicits the kind of excitement that couldn’t be forced if tried. ‘Stay With Me’ is gloriously huge, ‘Loverboy’ is anthemic. As All Time Low’s Alex Gaskarth appears just in time to feature on ‘Fresh Start Fever’ - causing a wave of mayhem amongst the crowd. It’s no wonder that the two bands will be heading into arenas by the time 2015 rolls around.
If this set’s anything to go by, enormodomes aren’t the only place they’ll be headlining soon: their sights are set on the top of the bill. If they keep going at this rate, it’s in their reach.
