You Me At Six: ‘For Us, It’s Very Overwhelming’
DIY catches us with YMAS frontman prior to the band’s double-headliner at Brixton Academy.

You Me At Six are set to finish their current UK tour with two sold out nights at London’s Brixton Academy, beginning this evening (2nd April).
The Surrey five-piece have been on the road for the last two weeks and will be finishing their tour in style, with two massive headlining shows at the infamous venue.
The band, who were recently featured on the cover of this month’s DIY Magazine, have headlined the venue twice before, but we caught up with frontman Josh Francheschi to find out if it ever gets any less surreal.
‘No, not at all,’ begins the 21 year old. ‘For us, managing to maintain that same level of interest in our live show… For us, it’s still very overwhelming.’
‘I mean, on this tour, we’ve done the SECC in Glasgow which is five and a half thousand people… It’s ridiculous!’
But what marks this time as headliners as different for the band? ‘I think the main thing I’m looking forward to about doing Brixton this time, is that, last time, we only got to play three or four new songs because we wanted to keep something, and hold back for this tour. This time though, we’re putting on a really big show.’
You Me At Six released their third album ‘Sinners Never Sleep’ last October. Their remaining UK dates - as well as their rescheduled Irish show, which were postponed earlier in the year, due to Franceschi being struck with acute tonsillitis - can be found below.
The band will also be appearing at this year’s Reading & Leeds Festivals.
