Yung share video for ‘Commercial’
Fittingly, it’s one big advert, hawking everything from razors to diamanté chokers.
With their debut album‘A Youthful Dream’ out in the big wide world, Danish punks Yung have given ‘Commercial’ the video treatment.
Fittingly, it’s one big parody of telly adverts, following a woman as she poses next to motorbikes, drinks a ‘Yung 1994’ vintage, and runs far too gleefully through lapping waves while waving a shaving razor (bit dangerous tbh).
“I originally demoed it [Commercial] a couple of years back but didn’t really like it back then,” says frontman Mikkel Holm Silkier of the song and video. “When we were about to record the album it resurfaced out of the blue and made it onto the album. Lyrically it’s about the very strange effect advertising can have on you. Some tv ads can really light up your own appalling everyday life - but it’s all fake.”
Yung are currently mid-way through a headline European tour. Watch their new video below.
