HUNTAR - Naked Noises

Whichever way HUNTAR eventually turns, he’s clearly a master of his craft.

It wouldn’t be a surprise to learn that HUNTAR - a new Peckham-based producer - was a wise old head planted on a mysterious identity’s shoulders. There’s an awful lot going on in second track ‘Naked Noises’ - enough to give the impression of a genuine chart-botherer in the making, or at least someone with previous experience. Identity’s important here - HUNTAR puts himself so far upfront it’s like he’s a masked figure, whispering in the ear.

On the one hand, ‘Naked Noises’ is a streamlined, ultra-immediate cut that executes the whole loved-up aesthetic to perfection. On the other, there are shades of TNGHT’ abrasion and Raleigh Ritchie’s outward-looking ambition to suggest it’s torn between world domination and complete introversion. Whichever way HUNTAR eventually turns, he’s clearly a master of his craft.
