Let’s Wrestle are now on their second album, ‘Nursing Home’; new single ‘If I Keep On Loving You’ is taken from the Steve Albini produced record.
The lyrics are refreshingly witty and full of good old British charm, delivered in Wesley Patrick Gonzalez’ dead pan style together with the band’s ramshackle instrumentation that would be right at home in a dirty basement club.
B-side ‘Dick In My Zipper’ perfectly represents the London trio’s immature charm as it details a summer Gonzalez spent with a friend who went on to get a new job, girlfriend and flat, leaving him behind with his ‘dick in [his] zipper.’ The overall sound is much the same as the flipside.
The band have progressed their sound since their debut, but kept to the same ethos and roots. Their lo-fi slacker rock attitude is infectious and makes for a highly enjoyable change from the norm.
