Rudi Zygadlo - Lily
Rudi Zygadlo has affirmed his position as a very exciting electro-pop artist.
Electro-pop Rudi Zygadlo’s last release ‘Dissident Song’ saw him strip-down to the basics, delicately crafting a beautiful piano ballad capturing the recent wave of protests and unrest across the world. New track ‘Lily’ is in many ways, the polar opposite. It’s a slice of shuddering electro-pop that’s filled with staccato guitar licks and synth hooks; boasting a chorus more jam-packed than a Victoria sponge baked to order for an emaciated wasp.
Yet, in many other ways, it’s very similar; like ‘Dissident Song’ did vocally, ‘Lily’ musically captures the zeitgeist perfectly. It throbs with the bass-heavy beats and shuddering rhythms of Jungle and Flume, with the deep-sounding vocal flicks in the chorus carrying more of a sting than – err – a jam-filled wasp. With ‘Lily’, Rudi Zygadlo has affirmed his position as a very exciting electro-pop artist, and should bloom into a flower of hype with more equally brilliant tracks (and some wasp pollination, of course).
Featuring Yard Act, Death Cab For Cutie, Graham Coxon, Maisie Peters and more.
