Skinny Lister - Plough & Orion

Hailed as the English Pogues, Skinny Lister are a five-piece folk band from Leicester full of enough sea shanties, jigs and earthy tracks to last a life time. Coming together in the last few years, the band is a welcome change to the usual folk sound and look. Designer beards anyone?

Their latest release, ‘Plough & Orion’ is a well-crafted blend of mandolins, violins, guitar riffs and folky vocals from both Dan Heptinstall and Lorna Thomas, adding a magical touch to the soft, tender lyrics sung throughout. The sprinkling of musicians Max Thomas, Sam Brace and Dan Gray are a perfect complement to the free spirited track, providing a mystical atmosphere to the song.

‘Plough & Orion’ is a quality reminder of the diverse musical talents that are ready to be discovered, and in the form of Skinny Lister, this is most likely to happen whilst stomping a rhythmical foot and getting gearing up to join in on a wild rum fuelled party!
