Sleigh Bells - Infinity Guitars

A gritty gem of ferociousness.

From the stripped back guitar introduction to the fuzzy layered vocal lines, Sleigh Bells are all about the lo-fi, but not in a fashionable chill-wave way, oh no this is a hell of a lot louder and a great deal more visceral and boy do they do it well. ‘Infinity Guitars’, their latest from their much lauded debut is a gritty gem of ferociousness.

Intensely distorted vocals, crashing guitars and mid tempo percussion beats thrown together make for one chaotic track that if it wasn’t for its near perfect execution could so easily be a misguided mess of ideas. Kicking into to full-blown-balls-out swing of things at the 1.50 mark, it’s clear this isn’t music for the background; this is in-your-face-whether-you-like-it-or-not music that can’t fail to impress.

Embrace it, run with it, and enter the world of Sleigh Bells. Grating at times because of its intrusiveness yet rewarding because of its fearlessness, ‘Infinity Guitars’ may not be for everyone but see what the hype is all about and check out one of the best tracks from one of the most hyped albums of the year, you can’t fail but be blown away.
