Superfood - Right On Satellite
A great big playground chant that invites your voicebox round for a nice cuppa.
Right on! Superfood are back. They’ve already tackled the ode to the small-screen on ‘TV’. Now, they’ve decided to pen a little ditty to satellites; the scraps of metal that globally transmit infinite Come Dine With Me re-runs, and cause couches across Britain to look like baking trays of dauphinoise potatoes.
It’s wrapped in the usual big-sounding groove and playful lyrics (‘I fell asleep on an aeroplane / I never thought I’d get so far, so far’), with the only addition a slightly more glossy production and guitars flecked with chorus-pedals. And – on the subject of chorus – the track’s one is a great big playground chant that invites your voicebox round for tea for a nice cuppa and chitter-chatter/ karaoke-inspired screeching. And, hey, with three free-entry DIY Presents gigs with the B-town four-piece coming up this summer, you can belt it out there, as well; sans shower-cap and hairbrush-microphone.
