Young Buffalo - Catapilah

A sunny, enjoyable offering for fans of the band and newcomers alike.

Folksy indie music is a dangerous and murky water, populated too often by tragically generic offerings from designer-stubbled drop-outs. Fortunately, the instantly likeable ‘Catapilah’ by Mississippi trio Young Buffalo is a happy exception to this rule.

The band have been likened to the Fleet Foxes, which whilst not an unfair comparison, would be misleading. Young Buffalo sound, through a combination of the range of their vocals and their production values, altogether less polished and a bit rougher around the edges; though this will undoubtedly be a selling point to those who grow bored of aforementioned cardboard cut-out indie folk bands.

Regardless, a combination of an upbeat variety of percussion and rolling, echoing vocals ensure that ‘Catapilah’ is a sunny, enjoyable offering for fans of the band and newcomers alike - mark this one down for your summery, happy playlist.
