The Strokes appear to be back in the studio, just months after Albert Hammond Jr. claimed they had no plans to record new music.
Frontman Julian Casablancas shared the news during the band’s headline set at Washington, DC’s Landmark Music Festival. Several fan Twitter accounts reported Casablancas’ confirmation, before guitarist Nick Valensi’s wife, Amanda de Cadenet, said Casablancas “let the cat outta the bag”.
The Strokes’ last album was 2013’s ‘Comedown Machine’, but they’ve spent 2015 playing shows such as BST Hyde Park and Primavera Sound. Julian Casablancas has been busy with The Voidz, while Hammond Jr. released his latest solo album ‘Momentary Masters’ this year.
