These New Puritans air previously unreleased song, ‘Spitting Stars’
Track was recorded live at London Barbican as part of a new release.
A new, previously unreleased These New Puritans track has emerged. ‘Spitting Stars’ is streaming now, as recorded at London Barbican back in April 2014, where Jack Barnett and co. played with a 35-piece orchestra.
The gig is being documented on ‘Expanded’, a 2xLP live album devoted to the performance - it comes out 20th October. Pre-order here.
New songs are scattered in amongst tracks from 2013’s ‘Field of Reeds’ LP, plus ‘Beat Pyramid’ and ‘Hidden’. ‘Spitting Stars’ is among the new numbers - it’s a dark but oddly uplifting piece that sounds positively beastly given its orchestral backing.
