Nicolas Jaar unveils new Florence + The Machine remix for ‘What Kind of Man’

Nicolas Jaar has unveiled his “dark jungle disco death squad suede sex” remix of Florence + The Machine’s new single, ‘What Kind of Man’.

Spanning twelve minutes, it opts for a slick, dagger-sharp, organic sound that has Florence Welch’s vocals reverberating in warbly bedlam. Giving nods to DFA staples - hedge-cutting synths, classic percussion - it’s up there with some of Jaar’s best work. Good timing, given he’s set to release a new solo LP this year, after rounding off a year-long tour with Darkside.
