Toro Y Moi previews new album with ‘Buffalo’ track
Rich instrumentation points the way for this former-chillwaver.
Synth wizard Toro Y Moi has unveiled ‘Buffalo’, the latest track to be taken from his forthcoming ‘What For?’ album.
With the new LP being Chaz Bundick’s most direct shunning of electronics - in favour of rich instrumentation, a ‘70s pop throwback - ‘Buffalo’ is the surest sign yet that he’s turned a corner.
According to an interview with The Fader, it’s the song that “pulled” Bundick out of a writer’s block, setting the tone “for the entire album.”

Earlier today, Toro Y Moi was confirmed in the first announcement for Latitude 2015 (buy tickets here). He headlines London’s Oval Space on 8th April.
