Charli XCX talks Paris Hilton inspired new music, and working with Rihanna
Apparently Hilton’s underrated pop banger ‘Stars Are Blind’ is one of Charli’s “favourite songs ever”.

In a new interview, Charli XCX has cited Paris Hilton as an influence on new material, and has revealed she’s been writing for Rihanna. It comes after she cancelled her remaining shows opening for Bleachers in order to focus on being creative.
Speaking to The Mirror, Charli XCX said that Paris Hilton is inspiring her new recordings. “I’ve been really inspired by Paris Hilton, small dogs and a glitter, luxe lifestyle,” she said. “I’ve never met Paris before, but we were both at the amFAR Gala during the Cannes Film Festival this year. I was performing and I saw her singing along to my song and I freaked out. I’m such a fan and one of my favourite songs ever is ‘Stars Are Blind’ – it’s pop genius.”
No word yet on whether Charli’s joining The Sanasas, however.
Charli also revealed that she’s been in the studio for ‘R8’ sessions, working on Rihanna’s long overdue eighth album. “I’m a really big Rihanna fan, ” she said, ” and I think she’s such an incredible artist. She’s my favourite pop girl. She’s the real deal. I’ve actually been to a couple of writing sessions for Rihanna’s new record. It was really fun to put together a
couple of tracks.”
