It might not be a surprise, but at least it means something’s definitely happening.
Arcade Fire have confirmed that they’re behind the cryptic ‘Reflektor’ street art that’s been appearing across cities the world over. The images first appeared at August’s Lollapalooza festival, with street artists claiming the band that the band were linked to the images.
The logo has since spread across billboards - a fair few could be found at this year’s Reading & Leeds - and scummy brick walls. A date since emerge - 9/9, 9pm - confirming that something was happening, linked to the ‘Reflektor’ images, on said date.
‘Arcade Fire have finally shown their hand’ reads a tweet published from an Arcade Fire fan account.
On 9/9, it seems like some big unveiling is happening on ‘Corner of Grand & Lafayette St, NYC’ - at least, that’s where Arcade Fire’s name has appeared first alongside the ‘Reflektor’ image.
Arcade Fire’s new album is due out on 28th October in the UK (29th in the US).
