Arcade Fire, Karen O, Pharrell Receive Oscar Nominations
This year’s Academy Awards ceremony takes place on 2nd March.

This year’s Oscar Academy Awards nominations have been announced, with musical Karen O and Arcade Fire (involved in Spike Jonze’s ‘Her’ film), heading up the musical nominees.
Karen O and Spike Jonze are in the Original Song category for ‘The Moon Song’, while Pharrell’s ‘Happy’ (from Despicable Me 2), U2’s ‘Ordinary Love’ (from Mandela), Bruce Broughton and Dennis Spiegel’s ‘Alone Yet Not Alone’ (from Alone Yet Not Alone), and Kristen Anderson-Lopez/Robert Lopez’s ‘Let it Go’ (from Frozen) also compete.
The Original Score category pits Arcade Fire and Owen Pallett’s contribution to ‘Her’ goes up against The Book Thief, Gravity, Philomena, and Saving Mr. Banks.
This year’s Academy Awards ceremony takes place on 2nd March 2014.
