Listen: Ben Khan Streams New ‘Eden’ Track

When Ben Khan arrived with ‘Drive (Part 1)’ earlier this summer, it was clear he wasn’t messing about: Jai Paul comparisons were valid, but he was steering the enigmatic XL signing’s aesthetic into something darker but ultimately more accessible. ‘Jasmine’ for the top 40, if you will.

‘Eden’ ups the anti, sending heady funk guitars through the JP in-out aesthetic, all coupled with some synth howls and vague, murky vocals. Khan details being on a ‘religious high’, backing the song with Arabic-inscribed artwork (right). Bold concepts ahoy, at its heart it’s a simple, cleverly-executed hit in waiting.
