Listen: Gem Club Announce Album, Share ‘Hypericum’
Sub Pop offshoot Hardly Art release the Boston group’s new album in 2014.
Hardly Art signings Gem Club aren’t shy of serving up a sombre song with an accompanying handkerchief, and their misery-ridden intentions show no sign of letting up with the beautiful ‘Hypericum’.
The song heads up a new album, due out in January 2014, following on from 2011’s ‘Breakers’ debut. Christopher Barnes’ vocals are more drenched in emotion than ever, backed by cellist Kristen Drymala.
