In the magazine August 2019

Featuring Sleater-Kinney, The Murder Capital, Friends Fires, Kim Petras & more!

In the the latest issue of DIY, we meet the incredible Sleater-Kinney, who are back with their propulsive new record ‘The Center Won’t Hold’, as produced by the one and only St Vincent. And after meeting the band in London back in May to discuss their new record, our feature took another unexpected turn after the recent departure of drummer Janet Weiss.

Elsewhere in the August issue, we chat to Ireland’s finest new band The Murder Capital about their debut, finally get the lowdown on Friendly Fires’ long-awaited record, and meet Kim Petras for the first time, ahead of her upcoming stints at Reading and Leeds.

There’s also chats with Jay Som, Shura, The Futureheads and Whitney, as well as a visit to The Big Moon’s studio to find out the progress of Album Number Two. Plus, there’s previews of Ypsigrock and Reading and Leeds festivals, as well as Neu features with Alfie Templeman, Working Men’s Club and Zuzu. Phew!
