On fire
Albert Hammond Jr. talks The Strokes’ live shows: “I take each one like it’s my last and I hold and cherish it”
Band appeared at Primavera last weekend, with BST Hyde Park around the corner.
The Strokes guitarist Albert Hammond Jr. has spoken about the big sense of occasion following the band’s recent European shows.
Last weekend the group played a triumphant headline slot at Primavera 2015, and they’ll be taking to a one-off London show at BST Hyde Park on 18th June. Speaking to BBC Radio 6 Music, he explained how he embraces each occasion, because he’s never sure how long the world tour will last.
“I don’t even know if we’re going to play any more shows…I don’t know if London might be our last show, you know what I mean?” he told the station. “People think I’m lying but I’m just tired of trying to make some positive spin, but I’ve got no idea. So I take each one like it’s my last and I hold and I cherish it.”
Hammond Jr. is readying the release of his ‘Momentary Masters’ album. Earlier this week he shared the ‘Losing Touch’ track.
We’re giving away a pair of tickets to The Strokes at BST Hyde Park on 18th June.
