Watch Angel Olsen reveals ‘Alive and Dying (Waving, Smiling)’

Lifted from her forthcoming ‘Song of the Lark and Other Far Memories’ box set.
With new box set ‘Song of the Lark and Other Far Memories’ arriving on 7th May on Jagjauwar, Angel Olsen is revealing ‘Alive and Dying (Waving, Smiling)’, an orchestral reinvention of ‘Whole New Mess’ cut ‘Waving, Smiling’.
“This song is all about chapters closing, and learning to let go of things I can’t understand,” Angel explains. “It’s very me - I will always nosedive into love, and suffering can definitely come with that. When I hear this version the strings really bring the song to its necessary bittersweet boiling point.”
Featuring Jherek Bischoff’s emotional string arrangement, and an 11-piece orchestra, check out ‘Alive and Dying (Waving, Smiling)’ below.
