Bastille, Elbow, Sam Smith and more star in Band Aid 30 video
The single hopes to raise money to aid the fight against Ebola.
The video for the Band Aid 30 single, featuring artists including Bastille, Elbow, Sam Smith and Clean Bandit, has made its debut online.
Recorded on Saturday (15th November) in aid of the fight against Ebola, other stars involved include Ed Sheeran, One Direction, Olly Murs, Coldplay’s Chris Martin and Bono.
Foals were originally announced as being part of the project, however a spokesperson for Band Aid 30 confirmed: “With a project such as Band Aid there are lots of conversations going on at any one point, and whoever was presented with Foals’ name was inaccurately informed as conversations with the group were in their infancy. We would have liked them to be present because they’re a great band, but it wasn’t logistically possible. They told us that regrettably they aren’t able to participate.”
A spokesperson for the band told NME that the band would instead be working on their own material in the studio.
Paul Epworth produced the record, while Tracey Emin has provided the official single art. The single won’t be made available on Spotify until January 2015.
