Beabadoobee, Thomas Headon and Biig Piig to takeover Spotify’s Our Generation playlist

As part of the playlist’s revamp, the three artists will be picking some of their favourite tracks from their own musical communities.

Today, Spotify announces a whole new look for Our Generation, and to celebrate three of the UK’s biggest up and coming artists are taking over the playlist with tracks from their musical communities

Having launched back in 2019 with a focus on offering up some of the most exciting new talent in the UK and Ireland to fans open to any genre and looking to discover new music, the Our Generation playlist is celebrating its new look and feel by inviting three of music’s most exciting new acts to takeover the curation of the playlist, alongside some of their friends, and give fans a glimpse inside their own close-knit communities.

While 20-year old singer-songwriter Thomas Headon will be taking over Our Generation on 12th November, the reins will be handed to our Class of 2020 alumni Biig Piig on 19th November, before our recent cover star Beabadoobee completes the takeover on 26th November.

Our Generation will also come with a brand new look, as created by 21 year old Australian illustrator and creative Eliza Williams, whose hand-drawn artwork is set to help to bring the world of these artists into full technicolour life.

And that’s not all: DIY are also partnering with Spotify to give you even more insight into Our Generation’s new world. We’ll be speaking to the acts behind each takeover to discover exactly what went into their playlist picks.

“We’re excited to have these three amazing artists collaborate with Our Generation, as we continue to expand Spotify’s support for emerging talent,” Sulinna Ong, Head of Music for UK and Ireland at Spotify has said. “We are expanding and enriching the Our Generation brand and offering fans the chance to further explore diverse and culturally influential artists to uncover their new undiscovered favourites via recommendations from some of the playlist’s most popular artists. Our ambition is to build a truly engaged community for Our Generation making it the go-to hub for music lovers to discover their new favourite artists.”

Thomas Headon’s Our Generation takeover kicks off this Thursday 12th November.
