Beck may have given us the surprise single ‘Dreams’ back in June - but by the looks of it he’s not quite done on that album he’s been promising for a while.
And by a while we mean… back in December 2012 he planned to release two albums within one year - one “recorded in Nashville which I may or may not finish” and the other “sonically adventurous”.
In June 2013 he added he’d got “one acoustic, one studio”.
By October of the same year we’d learned the “acoustic” record would be the future GRAMMY winner, ‘Morning Phase’ - partially recorded, as it happens, at Jack White’s Third Man studios in Nashville, and released in February 2014.
In April 2014 he told radio station KCRW “hopefully we’ll get it out this year”, in January 2015 it was “before the summer” according to his Øya festival biog, and yesterday he posted this.
Hooray!
