Billy Corgan to dedicate Smashing Pumpkins’ 2015 tour to US veterans

Summer dates are to be played in tribute to the military.

Billy Corgan has announced intentions to dedicate Smashing Pumpkins’ forthcoming summer 2015 tour to US veterans.

Corgan plans to work with the Easter Seals Dixon Centre on a project called ‘New Beginnings: Reaching America’s Vets’. He’s yet to disclose full details of his initiative, but speaking at a Live Nation-promoted event called National Concert Day, he said: “We kind of want to raise awareness of what’s going on in our veterans’ communities, we want to support families. It sounds like a very simplistic message, but it needs to be branded in a new way in American society.”

The Smashing Pumpkins leader recently announced his new role at TNA Wrestling, where he’s been given the responsibility of making story lines and themes for the company’s ‘Impact Wrestling’. And if you didn’t get the memo, he’s called William now.
