Black Lips Announce New Album, ‘Underneath The Rainbow’
Featuring Mastodon’s Brett Hinds but most definitely not Deerhunter’s Bradford Cox.
Everyone’s favourite drunken wreckheads Black Lips have announced details of a new album, their follow up to 2011’s ‘Arabia Mountain’.
Working with The Black Keys’ Patrick Carney in a Nashville studio, ‘Underneath The Rainbow’ is - predictably - all about drugs and ‘gin’ and other songs about ‘how going to jail sucks, because the florescent lights make it hard to sleep,’ according to an interview with Rolling Stone.
Mastodon’s Brett Hinds features as a guitarist on the record, but Deerhunter’s Bradford Cox apparently missed his chance after telling the band he’d pop in for some studio sessions.
Tracklist - it’s released on VICE, 18th March:

06 Justice After All
07 Boys in the Woods
