Bono cancels U2 ‘The Tonight Show’ residency following bike accident

Band were set to take over Fallon for a week.

U2 have been forced to cancel a planned week-long residency of ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’, after frontman Bono suffered a bike accident in New York.

Posting a message on their website, they confirmed that Bono is due into a NYC hospital for surgery, after injuring his arm in Central Park.

The full message reads: “It looks like we will have to do our Tonight Show residency another time - we’re one man down. Bono has injured his arm in a cycling spill in Central Park and requires some surgery to repair it. We’re sure he’ll make a full recovery soon, so we’ll be back! Much thanks to Jimmy Fallon and everyone at the show for their understanding.”

This incident follows a near-disaster last week, when the door of a private jet he was flying in came off the plane. His luggage was scattered somewhere over Germany, but nobody was harmed.
