Brandon Flowers covers The White Stripes ‘Fell In Love With A Girl’ at MoPop

He also covered Spoon’s ‘The Underdog’ during rehearsals at the Detroit festival.

Brandon Flowers performed at Detroit’s MoPop festival over the weekend, and chucked a couple of new covers into his set for good measure. The Killers frontman - who recently released his second solo album, ‘The Desired Effect’ - took on The White Stripes ‘Fell In Love With A Girl’. Max Shafer of Michigan band Fifth And Main also filmed him covering Spoon’s ‘The Underdog’ during rehearsals.

Brandon Flowers’ performance went ahead despite poor weather conditions in Detroit, and confusion about whether MoPop Festival needed to be evacuated. Ticket-holders on the festival’s official Instagram claim that poor communication led to them missing out on Flowers’ performance, which eventually went ahead as planned.

In other Brandon Flowers-related news, he’s set to guest on New Order’s upcoming tenth studio album ‘Music Complete’. Singing lead vocals on ‘Superheated,’ he’ll join a roll-call which also includes La Roux and Iggy Pop.
