Carrie Brownstein’s memoir to be released this October
‘Hunger Makes Me A Modern Girl’ will be published by Penguin.
Sleater-Kinney’s Carrie Brownstein will release her memoir ‘Hunger Makes Me A Modern Girl’ in October 2015.
Brownstein’s recollections will be published by Penguin Books, who describe the book as tracing “Brownstein’s life in music, from ardent fan to pioneering female guitarist to comedic performer and luminary in the independent rock world.”
‘Hunger Makes Me A Modern Girl’ is said to “pretty much end with Sleater-Kinney going on hiatus, and a little bit of leading on from that.”
Sleater-Kinney released their new album ‘No Cities To Love’ in January (catch up with the DIY cover feature here), and will play four dates across UK/Europe later this month. Catch them on the following dates:
MARCH
23 London, Roundhouse
24 Manchester, Albert Hall
25 Glasgow, O2 ABC 2
26 Dublin, Vicar Street
Tickets for the shows can be purchased here. For more details and to pre-order ‘Hunger Makes Me A Modern Girl’, head to Penguin Books’ website here.
