Childish Gambino’s ‘Awaken, My Love!’ will be available as a ‘virtual reality’ vinyl

Childish Gambino is set to release his new album ‘Awaken, My Love!’ tomorrow (2nd December) via Glassnote, but is being very mysterious about what the LP will be like.

He recently unveiled two new songs – ‘Me & Your Mama’ and ‘Redbone’– but also deleted the entire contents of his Twitter account, leaving only a link to a concert available for the Pharos app where he performed ‘Me & Your Mama’ in 360° virtual reality at Joshua Tree.

Now Donald Glover is offering a pre-order of ‘Awaken, My Love!’ that’s a “virtual reality” vinyl. Donald hasn’t given any hints as to what that actually means, other than that you get a poster and two heavyweight records. Will a holographic version of Donald appear when you open it? Guess we have to wait until tomorrow to find out.
