Damon Albarn Announces New ‘Africa Express’ Album

Damon Albarn’s ‘Africa Express’ project is an ongoing cause, launched in 2006 and bringing together enlivened collaborations between western and African artists. In 2012, this all led to a huge train tour, where 70 musicians travelled together during a six-day tour.

A new release is due before the end of the year. ‘Africa Express Presents: Maison Des Jeunes’ is set to gain release digitally on 9th December, with a physical release due out the following year.

Unlikely names are getting involved, most notable of all being mysterious Manchester producer Holy Other. This is obviously very exciting, especially since members of Metronomy and Django Django are also getting involved, with the focus being on Mali; a country that has made little progress during several torrid decades.
