Damon Albarn to play extended set with special guests at Latitude 2014

Blur frontman will be providing a “special moment”, according to Latitude boss Melvin Benn.

Latitude Festival boss Melvin Benn has promised an extended set from Damon Albarn, with the Blur frontman set to headline the Saturday at Obelisk Arena.

Albarn’s set - previously set to last 1 and a half hours - has been scheduled for an extra 15 minutes.

“I spoke to Damon’s team last night as he was in Montreux and this morning they said they want to stretch out his set from 90 minutes to 105 because they’ve got a special guests in store.”

Benn didn’t elaborate on the identity of the guest, but he promised a “really special moment”.

Damon recently released his first solo album, ‘Everyday Robots’. Tonight is his only UK festival headline performance in 2014.
