Deer Tick To Play Free Secret Show
The band is playing a free secret show to raise awareness of NYPD brutality.
Deer Tick has announced that Monday 3rd October, they will play a free secret show at Death By Audio. The gig, sponsored by Brooklyn Vegan, is designed to raise awareness of the brutality of the NYPD this weekend at the peaceful Occupy Wall Street Protests.
Specifically, the band wants to call attention to a group of women who were assaulted with pepper spray and dragged across the ground. The band has stated that they would like the NYPD to take responsibility for the ‘unnecessary use of force that took place on Saturday, and requests that deputy inspector Anthony Bologna (aka Tony Bologna) face charges and is immediately dismissed from his position at the NYPD.’
Deer Tick is grateful for the service the NYPD provides in keeping the citizens of its province safe, but is, rightfully, outraged at the brutal force and power used against a group of citizens peacefully exercising their right to assembly and free speech.

The show will start at 8pm.
