DIY Weekly, 2nd December 2013 - Feat. TOY, Wild Beasts, Peace & More.
DIY’s free weekly edition also features Everything Everything, Flume, Rosie Lowe & more.

As the year winds down and end of year talk gets active, everyone’s attention turns to TOY, the band arguably behind 2013’s last great contender. Their perfectly-formed psych is a product of patience, and in ‘Join The Dots’ the Heavenly signings prove themselves to be one of the UK’s most almighty bands.
DIY’s cover feature focuses in on a group indulging in spontaneity for their second record, and why the people behind these wild noise frenzies quite predictably ‘don’t exactly lead normal lifestyles.’
2013’s been surreal for Harley Streten aka Flume. Getting the likes of Autre Ne Veut and Ghostface Killah to work with him probably seemed unlikely, if not impossible, this time last year. But Harley is Australia’s most talked about producer and he’s landed on something special for his new ‘Flume Deluxe Edition’.
A fresher face arriving upon the scene is Rosie Lowe. She proves herself to be one of pop’s most boundary-pushing new characters. She introduces her ‘male counterpart’ and proves why she’s not the average R&B sensation.
News-wise, it’s a very busy week. Wild Beasts have crawled out of their studio with a suitable roar, to explain why their forthcoming fourth LP is a return to the ‘Limbo, Panto’ days in terms of production. Talk about making 2014 even more exciting…
Sky Larkin discuss the ins and outs of how to turn a single into a newspaper, and the boys in Peace speak to DIY ahead of their huge winter tour.
Blood Red Shoes leave trails and clues across the world ahead of a new album (find out what that’s all about inside) and Everything Everything rustle up word on the quick follow-up to this year’s ‘Arc’.
In Neu, Spring King introduces himself as a producer turned all-thrills songwriter, and LA’s PAPA bring wisdom and a whole lot of noise to their exclusive mix.
It’s all yours, for exactly zero pence. Grab the issue on iTunes to download the iPad version, or simply read the whole thing on Issuu online, right now.
