Dream Wife get creepy in their new ‘Lolita’ video
Bit early for Halloween, but never mind - it’s still ace.
Anybody who used to hide behind the sofa during evening screenings of Goosebumps or Jeopardy consider themselves warned; in their latest video, Dream Wife are celebrating Halloween a bit early.
Nodding to The Shining’s creepy twins and breathless hand-held camera footage, ‘Lolita’s video is directed by Sam Boullier and Eleanor Hardwick. Telling The Fader about the visual, the band said: “the idea for the video came from a distaste toward the classic virginal female victim narrative, the damsel in distress scenario. The intention was to make something both playful and angry, toying with many conventional horror movie moments in an unconventional, empowering, silly and scary way.”
