Elbow Score First Number 1 Album In UK Charts
Sixth album ‘The Take Off And Landing Of Everything’ is Guy Garvey and co.’s first chart-topper.
have gone straight in to the top of the UK charts with their new, sixth studio album ‘The Take Off And Landing Of Everything’.
Guy Garvey and co.’s previous two album ‘Build A Rocket, Boys!’ and ‘The Seldom Seen Kid’ were both top ten successes, but this is the band’s first number 1 record.
This week also saw Joseph Mount’s Metronomy score their first top ten album with ‘Love Letters’. The former DIY Weekly coverstars’ follow-up to 2011’s ‘The English Riviera’ is their highest-placing album to date.
Dan Croll scored a new entry at #24 in the top 40 with ‘Sweet Disarray’.
Bastille’s ‘Bad Blood’ and Arctic Monkeys’ ‘AM’ also struck the top five.
