English Teacher announce five track ‘Live From BBC Maida Vale Studios’ EP
The project comes in the wake of their debut album, ‘This Could Be Texas’, being shortlisted for this year’s Mercury Prize.
English Teacher have announced that they’ll be digitally releasing a new five-track project, ‘Live From BBC Maida Vale Studios’, this Friday (30th August) via Island Records.
The Leeds quartet have had a whirlwind few months; having released their superlative debut album ‘This Could Be Texas’ back in April, they’ve since played festivals across Europe and have been shortlisted for the 2024 Mercury Prize (find out more about how this year’s event will be broadcast here).
Formed from the band’s BBC sessions with Radio 1, Radio 2, and Radio 6 Music, the new EP (on which their live cellist Blossom Calderone features) will include album tracks ‘The World’s Biggest Paving Slab’, ‘This Could Be Texas’, and ‘You Blister My Paint’, as well as covers of LCD Soundsystem’s ‘New York, I Love You But You’re Bringing Me Down’ and Billie Eilish’s ‘Birds Of A Feather’.
