Exclusive: Listen: Damon Albarn Gives Track-By-Track Commentary Of ‘Dr Dee’
Damon Albarn takes us through a track-by-track guide to his new album ‘Dr Dee’.
As you probably know by now, us here at DIY are rather avid fans of the work of Mr Damon Albarn: whether it be Blur, Gorillaz, or, indeed, his latest musical project ‘Dr Dee’. So, we thought it’d be lovely for us all to share in this track-by-track audio commentary, in which he gives listeners an insight into each song from his forthcoming solo album, alongside a snippet of the track itself.
His new studio album, inspired by the life of John Dee - aka mathematician, polymath and advisor to Elizabeth I - is set to be released through Parlophone Records on the 7th May.
Spending the latter part of 2011 recording in his West London studio, he also spent time working alongside the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra in Salford, before the record was mixed by Valgeir Sigursson in Reykjavik.
Albarn recently showcased songs from his opera at this year’s OneFest, which took place last Saturday (14th April).
