Raft Records has been created alongside brother Tarik, of Loom.
The Badwan siblings - Faris of the Horrors and Tarik of Loom - have announced that they’ve started a joint venture called Raft Records. The brothers have also revealed that they will release their joint musical project on the label as well as the debut album by Loom.
An inaugural release, titled ‘Raft Records EP’ will be a compilation spilt featuring Skinny Girl Diet, Niqab, Puffer and Jet Black. The Badwans are planning to release the seven-inch single next month. Speaking to NME, Tarik Badwan commented that the inspiration for Raft Records raised from “labels that have real personality. Factory Records, Captured Tracks…labels that have a real lo-fi spirit to them.”
This year sees Faris releasing a new Cat’s Eyes album, the forthcoming soundtrack to Peter Strickland’s film, ‘The Duke of Burgundy’.
