Flyte stream ‘Closer Together’ single
Tightly-wound pop track is out this July.
There’s a tenseness to Flyte’s tightly-wound new single, ‘Closer Together’. And as it turns out, that’s a result of the group’s endless recording sessions in Bethnal Green, where the London four-piece became sick of the sight of each other.
“This song came from living in tiny London flats crammed in with too many other people,” says frontman Will Taylor, speaking from the same page of 99% of the capital’s population. Still, with this song, Flyte do what they do best, coating melancholic truths in sunshine-doused pop and tropical-nodding synths. Claustrophobia seems to bring out the best in them.
Flyte’s new single is out 31st July on Island Records. This summer they play Secret Garden Party, Kendal Calling and Victorious Festival, before putting the finishing touches to their debut album.
Flyte will play Kendal Calling (30th July - 2nd August), where DIY is an official media partner. Tickets are on sale now. Visit diymag.com/presents for more information.
