Chart update
Foals miss out on first #1 album, with The Weeknd taking the top spot
‘Beauty Behind the Madness’ pips ‘What Went Down’ in the charts.
‘What Went Down’? Foals’ chart position from the midweeks. The Oxford group were on course for their first #1 album after being almost 5,000 copies ahead of The Weeknd, but it’s Abel Tesfaye who’s taken the top spot with his new LP ‘Beauty Behind The Madness’.
Foals’ fourth album is the biggest-selling in independent record shops, but it misses out on the top spot to both The Weeknd and Jess Glynne, whose ‘I Cry When I Laugh’ debut is at #2.
Beach House have scored a high new entry with ‘Depression Cherry’ at #17, while Halsey’s first work ‘Badlands’ is at #9 and Motorhead are at #10 with ‘Bad Magic’.
There’s been a post-Reading & Leeds boost for Royal Blood, whose debut is up to #22. The rest of the top five is made up by Ella Eyre’s ‘Feline’ and Sam Smith’s ‘In The Lonely Hour’.
The Weeknd is also high in the Official Singles Chart with ‘Can’t Feel My Face’ at #3. Justin Bieber’s gone straight to the top with ‘What Do You Mean?’.
