Foals unveil ‘Snake Oil’ CCTV session
Yannis goes solo with a loop pedal, and it’s excellent.
Foals’ latest album ‘What Went Down’ showcased a more muscular band than ever before - none more so than the album’s bruising mid-point, ‘Snake Oil’. Now, they’ve unveiled a stripped down version of the track as part of their regular CCTV Sessions.
The new version sees Yannis take on the track alone, with nothing but a drum machine and a loop pedal. It loses none of its weight though, Yannis’ frenzied wails cutting straight to the bone. Watch it below.
Foals were DIY’s September issue cover stars - you can read the full cover feature online here. We also recently caught up with Yannis to chat keeping shows a safe space, before heading to Margate to catch the UK’s best live band at the top of their game. If you want to take a bite of the apple yourself, they play the following arena dates next year:
FEBRUARY
10 Dublin, 3Arena
12 Glasgow, SSE Hydro
13 Manchester, Arena
16 London, Wembley Arena
19 Birmingham, Arena
20 Leeds, Arena
